Attorney Michael Thad Allen of Allen Harris Law Is Featured in The Free Press Article

In an interview with Rikki Schlott of The Free Press, Michael Thad Allen, Esq. of Allen Harris Law addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in fine arts institutions and foundations. Mr. Allen pointed out that any theater attempting to implement DEI demands could find itself at the other end of a lawsuit because, with Title VII federal law, hiring people purely on the basis of race could be deemed “a potential violation.” He continues by stating, “It would be different if you were a private foundation permitted to promote their private agenda. [But organizations that receive federal funding] are not allowed to discriminate on the basis of race.”
